T.A.G. Construction Pte. Ltd. was appointed as the demolition contractor for the complete demolition and reinstatement of the F1 Storage Hub, a large-scale commercial storage facility located in Singapore. This project required the systematic dismantling of an ageing industrial storage complex to make way for future redevelopment plans in the area.

Scope of Works

The F1 Storage Hub demolition project encompassed a comprehensive range of demolition works and site reinstatement activities. As a BCA-registered demolition contractor in Singapore, T.A.G. Construction managed every phase of the project from initial assessment through to final site handover.

Our scope of works included the complete structural demolition of the multi-storey storage facility, removal of all internal partitions, mezzanine floors, and racking systems. We also handled the demolition of reinforced concrete slabs, columns, beams, and foundation structures. The project further required the stripping of all mechanical and electrical installations, removal of fire protection and suppression systems, dismantling of roller shutters, loading dock equipment, and access infrastructure, as well as complete site clearance and disposal of all demolition debris.

Demolition Methodology

T.A.G. Construction employed a top-down demolition methodology for the F1 Storage Hub project, which is the industry-standard approach for multi-storey commercial structures in Singapore. This method involves the systematic removal of structural elements from the highest level downward, ensuring stability is maintained at every stage.

We began with soft-strip demolition to remove all non-structural elements, fittings, and hazardous materials. Mechanical demolition using hydraulic excavators fitted with concrete crushers and hydraulic breakers was then employed for the primary structural demolition. Where precision was required near boundary walls and adjacent structures, we utilised diamond cutting and controlled breaking techniques to minimise vibration transmission.

Safety and Compliance

Safety is the cornerstone of every T.A.G. Construction project. For the F1 Storage Hub demolition, we developed a comprehensive Safety Management Plan in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and MOM regulations. All personnel were required to complete site-specific safety inductions, and daily toolbox meetings were conducted before works commenced each day.

Equipment Deployed

The scale of the F1 Storage Hub project required the deployment of a significant fleet of heavy machinery and specialised equipment. This included hydraulic excavators (20-tonne and 30-tonne class) fitted with demolition attachments, hydraulic concrete crushers and pulverisers, breaker attachments for reinforced concrete, diamond wire and wall saws for precision cutting, wheel loaders for material handling and stockpiling, tipper trucks for debris transportation, and mobile cranes for lifting and positioning.

Disposal and Reinstatement

All demolition waste was segregated on-site in accordance with NEA waste management guidelines. Concrete rubble was processed through on-site crushing for recycling as aggregates, while steel reinforcement and other metals were separated for recycling. Non-recyclable waste was transported to approved disposal facilities.

Following demolition, T.A.G. Construction completed full reinstatement works to restore the site to a clean, level condition ready for future development. This included backfilling of basement and foundation voids, compaction and grading of the site to specified levels, and final site clearance and handover inspection.
